The Ocean Master Proflo
By Doug Pemberton
The Ocean Master Proflo SQC (Super Quick Clearing) snorkel is more than just a dry snorkel. It represents a philosophy that goes into all of Ocean Masters snorkelling equipment, a philosophy to design gear that is simple, safe and reliable.

A great deal of thought went into the Proflo's unique designing, making it comfortable to wear and simple to use. From the top end, air enters the snorkel through an inverted opening. This ensures that when the snorkel is submerged, in the upright position, there is always a positive pressure pocket, much the way an upside down glass maintains an air pocket when submerged. A self draining wrap-around splash guard also directs water away from the opening. Any water that does get through is quickly expelled with minimal effort through the large purged reservoir at the base of the snorkel.
The Proflo's elliptical cross section makes it hydrodynamic and a swivelling, quick-release snorkel keeper allows for quick and simple attachment and adjustment.
Adding to the comfort and adaptability of the snorkel to just about any face size or shape is the three dimensional adjustability of the mouthpiece which is available in one size and can be used on other large, medium, small and children's size snorkels.
The Proflo is available in a wide assortment of colours.
Ocean Master has another snorkel design, the Dry Snorkel 2000 and several masks which I have seen in use but as yet have not had an opportunity to use. The quick-adjust Q-strap on their masks looks very interesting and I look forward to trying it out for an upcoming report in DIVER. For more information on Ocean Master products call 1-800-841-7007.
