ROV Sealion to 1000 feet

The SeaLion system is now available from Fischer with 1000 foot depth capability. The standard SeaLion ROV has a 500 foot depth capability. Different materials are used in the construction of the new 1000 foot version which allow it to handle the deeper depths. Both the standard SeaLion system and the new 1000 foot version can be equipped with 1000 feet of umbilical cable.

The SeaLion can be equipped with an optional manipulator arm which allows the ROV to become more than just an inspection tool. Other options for the SeaLion include high resolution and PAL format cameras, 35mm still camera, digital compass, bulk head and in-line waterproof connectors, crash cage, and on-screen display of time, date, GPS position, depth, water temp, and compass heading. Suunto Nitrox

The Solution Nitrox dive computer is programmable for nitrox mixtures of 21% to 50% oxygen in one percent increments. It can be adjusted for oxygen partial pressure and will calculate maximum allowed depth based on set O2 and PO2. It also incorporates a colour-coded OLF (oxygen limit fraction) bar graph, stores the O2% and maximum OLF in the logbook and 1500-minute dive profile memory, and defaults to 50% O2, 79% N2 after activation.

The Solution Nitrox has many standard features as well as the innovative electroluminescent Lux illumination. For more information contact a dive shop or FitzWright Company Ltd., 5760 Production Way, Langley, B.C. V3A 4N4. (604) 533-7848 fax (604) 530-8812. http://www.suunto.fi

Suunto Spyder

Is it a watch?

The new Suunto Spyder Advanced Computer Watch is a wrist worn dive computer. Even though it looks like a watch and wears like one, it has all the computer functions divers look for in a sophisticated piece of gear. This compact dual purpose multi-level computer provides the user with what the literature calls extensive personal adjustment capabilities. (Referring to the computer not the individual). It has unique electroluminescent illumination and a very user-friendly (well defined) display field. More features include complete memory functions which are downloadable via the Windows-compatible Suunto Dive Log software.

A simple mode-change button switches it from a top-end dive computer to a precision-crafted timepiece that incorporates calendar clock with daily alarm and stopwatch. Other features of the Suunto Spyder include a stainless steel 316 grade case with a scratch resistant mineral glass. It has a pressure rating to 20 ATM (200m/600 ft). The Spyder is available in gold finish or black. The strap is a tropic design made of heavy rubber compound. For more information contact a Suunto dealer or the Fitzwright Company (604) 533-7848.
